Jake and his crew did a wonderful job of cleaning up the mess that a recent storm had caused on my property. They cut down trees and hauled off limbs and branches,. They also trimmed my pear trees and water birch, and gavel them a decent shape again. They cleaned up after themselves and carted off all the debris. I couldn’t be more satisfied with their work. . I was a bit skeptical with all the 5-star reviews, but I actually had a great experience with Jake from Stumpy's Grinding & Tree Service. I sent him photos of 12 stumps (all different sizes) on a pretty tricky hill lot, and he gave me a very reasonable quote right off the bat. It’s been a while since I’ve had any stump grinding done, so I had a ton of questions and Jake was very patient the whole time, answering everything over the text.
When he came out to do the job, he pointed out a few extra stumps that I hadn’t included in the photos and asked if I wanted those taken care of too. I told him I’d love to, but had to stick to my budget, so I prioritized.
Jake worked with a helper, and they had two machines, so everything was fast and efficient, and they were done in under two hours. When I went to check the work, I was surprised (and thrilled!) to see they had done the extra stumps too—at no extra charge. That kind of kindness and professionalism is rare these days. Highly recommend Jake and his company!

Jake came out twice. Once to grind 11(!) stumps the previous owner had hidden in a berm, them to remove the dirt and level the yard. Cleaned up yard, even planted a tree. Absolutely professional and Southern sweet. 5 star service!!

The company is amazing. Jake went above and beyond. We had some logs and branches in the front yard where we had cut down and without using asking he loaded all of it and put in the dumpster and did not charge us. He said he came to grind the two large stumps and that was the quote. Of course we paid him extra. He not only ground up the stumps he rake the area and blowed the driveway off. If I ever need work again Stumpy’ is who we will call

Recently, my insurance contacted me as they were going to cancel our policy, due to tree branches overhanging the roof. I called around for several estimates and met with a few tree guys to have the situation assessed. There are times when the money estimate matters more than the job at hand and then there are times when you meet Jake Richardson with Stumpys Grinding & Tree Service. Jake walked around my yard and really looked at what was needed and even suggested things I hadn't even thought of prior to this. As I explained to him, that when you choose a product or service, based on price, you usually get what you pay for. However, when they showed up on the first day, I was overwhelmed with kindness, politeness, organization, attention to detail and other countless positives that escape my mind. His climbers are without a doubt the craziest guys I've met (in a good way). They ascended these trees like it was nothing, dropping branches as they went up. One guy was in a "trouble tree" for close to two hours. I can't even imagine the stress that puts on one's body. The other guys, I'll call them the gatherers and ground crew, were also so polite and helpful. You watch as they're working and wonder what your yard is going to look like "after the storm", and I'm here to say "WOW"!! It looks better than it did when they arrived, and I'm not even referencing the trees they removed. To say that these guys went above and beyond would be a huge understatement. They will be on my pay it forward list for a long time coming. As a full time Realtor in this crazy market, I have been struggling financially (not complaining), but to have to spend this much to keep an insurance policy that is only $1700, can put a real strain on a person. From the bottom of my heart Jake, thank you so much for your kindness & hospitality. If you are in need of any kind of tree service, stump grinding or anything of the sort, call Stumpys Grinding & Tree Service . If you call anyone else, you're only doing yourself a disservice.

Just had Jake and the team grind out 10 large stumps after a hurricane. They did great work in very hard to reach areas. Pricing was fair and the work was fast. They made the lingering remnants of a disaster completely disappear. We are very grateful.

Fast and efficient. My trees are simply and neatly deleted, leaving a smooth mulch bed, like something out of Minecraft, lol. Great work…will hire again.

Recently, my insurance contacted me as they were going to cancel our policy, due to tree branches overhanging the roof. I called around for several estimates and met with a few tree guys to have the situation assessed. There are times when the money estimate matters more than the job at hand and then there are times when you meet Jake Richardson with Stumpys Grinding & Tree Service. Jake walked around my yard and really looked at what was needed and even suggested things I hadn't even thought of prior to this. As I explained to him, that when you choose a product or service, based on price, you usually get what you pay for. However, when they showed up on the first day, I was overwhelmed with kindness, politeness, organization, attention to detail and other countless positives that escape my mind. His climbers are without a doubt the craziest guys I've met (in a good way). They ascended these trees like it was nothing, dropping branches as they went up. One guy was in a "trouble tree" for close to two hours. I can't even imagine the stress that puts on one's body. The other guys, I'll call them the gatherers and ground crew, were also so polite and helpful. You watch as they're working and wonder what your yard is going to look like "after the storm", and I'm here to say "WOW"!! It looks better than it did when they arrived, and I'm not even referencing the trees they removed. To say that these guys went above and beyond would be a huge understatement. They will be on my pay it forward list for a long time coming. As a full time Realtor in this crazy market, I have been struggling financially (not complaining), but to have to spend this much to keep an insurance policy that is only $1700, can put a real strain on a person. From the bottom of my heart Jake, thank you so much for your kindness & hospitality. I emailed early in the morning and Jake responded quickly. By noon the next day he had ground up the stumps we talked about. When I surveyed the work later I saw where he took care of a small stump we hadn’t talked about. I appreciate quality work and admire when people take enough pride to go the extra mile. Great job.

Jake came out to grind 3 stumps that we had after having the trees cut down. He was extremely professional, had great communication and very fair prices. Jake noticed a few other stumps in the yard and made us a deal to grind those as well while he was here. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this company!! We are very satisfied with his service and clean up afterwards.
